Brian Hossink of Fitness Together in Okemos on Kenny

“The first two weeks of the month Kenny was gone on vacation. We talked before he left about how to prepare for this kind of disruption in routine. We discussed taking control and protecting his calendar from the many spontaneous distractions that come up while away. He decided to pack some exercise equipment and his running shoes – not knowing what his hotel “gym” would have. When he came back I was pleased to hear he did run, and workout some on his trip. Unfortunately he also gained four pounds. Still his efforts show he is gaining internal habits for regular exercise – even while away. The last two weeks of the month we made good progress and had a net loss of three pounds for the month. His bodyfat percentage also improved to 21.5 percent. He is looking forward to reaching 15 percent."

Carrie Crandall, RD on Kenny Bey

"Ken had a bit of a plateau this month and seems to struggle with being an all or nothing type of eater. This month he took a vacation and found that being in the south provided many different challenges. Overall, however when he is focused he makes significantly better food choices and is able to see the result in his energy and fitness level. In order to achieve his personal goal however we have decided that we
may have to initiate some tighter control with regard to his food
choices and portion sizes. I look forward to placing him on a more structured plan which will then force him to be more accountable and plan ahead."
