Fit Feature: Neil Hyska

Neil Hyska, 28, of Haslett, knows the importance of getting his time in at the gym. “I believe fitness is incredibly important for not only physical health, but psychological health as well,” he said. “It’s a great way to keep both your body and mind in great shape, and to relieve a lot of the day to day stressors of life.”

Hyska, a pharmaceutical representative, said his workouts consist of a mix of cardio and lifting, which usually centers around core compound movements. He said he practices intermittent fasting, a diet plan where you eat within a specific time period and fast the rest of the time.

“I do my best to keep the diet as close to 80/20 as possible,” he said. “I’m a firm believer that the way you do anything, is the way you’ll do everything. Fitness helps me keep myself regimented, set goals, take ownership, and push myself daily. That carries over into my career, and many other aspects of my life.”

He said it’s never too late to make a positive change in your life.

“Don’t judge your success by what you see online or anywhere else,” he said. “Your path to finding your happiness, with your fitness goals/journey, has to be your own. So, make it fun! Enjoy the process.”
