Joint heart health presentation celebrates American Heart Month

Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital hosts its sixth annual Heart Health Event in collaboration with Sparrow Health System to celebrate American Heart Month Thursday, Feb. 14.

All community members are invited to attend the free interactive lunch-and-learn presentation at AL!VE in Charlotte, Mich. The presentation will feature experts from HGB’s Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, which is the only Pritikin-certified program in mid-Michigan. Joel Cohn, M.D., from Sparrow Thoracic Cardiovascular Institure and HGB’s Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation will discuss medication and medical intervention, and when it makes sense for a Patient. Deanne Marsell, M.A., R.D., L.D., from Pritikin Longevity Center, will talk about nutrition and lifestyle strategies to reduce heart health risks. Pritikin is an evidenced-base program that improves Patient recovery and reduces readmission rates following a cardiac event.

Lunch is included for all who pre-register by Monday, Feb. 11.
