Ways to improve your health

We control what we put in our bodies, minds and spirits, therefore, it’s up to us to make sure it’s positive and beneficial. With that being said, here are some suggestions to jumpstart to a better you!

You are what you eat  Think of your body as if it were a high-tech machine. In order for it to run smoothly, you must care for it properly. Nourishment is the key to fueling your body wisely. Keep it simple and don’t overwhelm yourself. Remember the following:

  • water represents life
  • carbs and healthy fat provide energy
  • protein helps build strength

Also, you are not alone. Research your community resources through your local parks and recreation centers and seek-out local wellness workshops. Consider scheduling an appointment with your doctor to discuss a prescription to see a local dietitian.  

Healthy state of mind  We are living in challenging times and I believe a healthy state of mind should be given encouragement.  Once you start viewing things in your life in a positive manner, you will find yourself thinking differently and refocusing your mind to a happy healthy place. When you eliminate negativity and re-frame how you think of certain things and situations, you’ll notice yourself being more relaxed.

Encourage your spirit  Spiritual wellness involves one’s values, beliefs, and purpose. It can be achieved in several ways,  both physically and mentally. Remember to explore your spiritual core, asking yourself questions about the person you are and your meaning. Ask yourself: Who am I? What is my purpose? What do I value most? These questions will lead you down a path that allows you to think more in-depth about yourself and allows you to notice things about yourself that will help you achieve fulfilment.
