Finding motivation: Tips to help you feel in control

I often hear people say they have a hard time finding the motivation to do things. Motivation is required to stay the course with anything you’re doing (working out, starting a business, etc).  The biggest step, what I refer to as the bungee jump in regards to motivation, is taking that leap of faith. This courageous move is the start!  Now, give yourself a pat on the back and keep pressing forward with these simple tips:

Positive mindset

One of my favorite quotes, “The mind is everything, what you think you become.” ~Buddha

I believe motivation is definitely ignited by a positive mindset.  Good energy is very helpful and necessary when it comes to accomplishing goals and dreams.  Staying positive will not only make you feel better, but will also allow you to focus on what you’re aiming to achieve.  When you run into obstacles don’t get frustrated, instead, examine different paths and tell yourself, I got this!

Develop a routine

To stay committed, develop a plan that fits your schedule and makes certain you’re passionate about it.  By doing so, you will most likely follow it.  This is very important, as routines help you stay on task.

Set achievable goals

Always start off with goals that make sense and allow you to succeed!  I believe you will find this encouraging and helpful in keeping you motivated. The best part, when your mood increases and results start coming, then motivation will come and you’ll want to keep going. Remember you have to start somewhere.

Be patient

Rome wasn’t built in a day. When you think about your goals, think long term. Remember the bungee jump (leap of faith)? Now it’s time to trust that things will work out, and the results will come if you give them time.

Stay inspired

Inspiration is one of the best motivators and can help one sustain motivation over the long term. What’s great is that it can be found everywhere. A few helpful inspirational sources include friends and family, success stories, quotes, music, blogs, personal journal, and creative thinking brainstorming sessions! I hope you find these tips helpful and motivating when you’re in need of taking a leap of faith!
