Sandy Sonier, 54, of Elsie, is a claims administrative manager for The Doctors Company, a professional liability insurance company, and is also a certified holistic wellness coach.
Sonier says she enjoys working out and learned many years ago the benefits of exercising, especially how it reduces stress and improves her energy.
“I believe you really need to find an exercise that is fun for you so that you will stick with it,” she said. “I joined Jazzercise 10 years ago, and I have been going faithfully three times a week ever since. I love it. It doesn’t feel like exercise because it is so much fun!”
She said she likes the DeWitt Jazzercise instructors and has even lost 16 pounds by focusing on better eating habits. She said she also enjoys walking, hiking in the woods, and weight training a couple days a week.
“I start my day off with a healthy protein and fruit smoothie and eat healthy snacks throughout the day to keep my blood sugar stable and my metabolism up,” she said. “I try to stick with the 80/20 rule of making healthy choices, but when I have a bad day I acknowledge it and start over the next day.”
Sandy’s passion for fitness and well-being has grown over the years, resulting in her desire to help other woman achieve their health goals. She recently became certified as a holistic wellness coach.
“I truly believe that we all need support in reaching our health goals, and even making a small change can have a positive impact,” she said.
