CAHS set to host Halloween-themed animal walk

Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS) will hold a Halloween-themed Walk for the Animals-Paws in the Park on Sunday, October 29 from 12-5 p.m. The family-friendly walk has a new location at Cooley Law School Stadium in Downtown Lansing that includes more activities for attendees and their dogs!

The event will still feature a 1-mile walk on the concourse, police dog demos, agility equipment, a doggy obstacle course, and vendors. New features include a Zumba warm-up, massages, human and dog costume contests, trick or treating, a Yappy Hour to wrap up the event.

Participants may register online at www.AdoptLansing.org.  CAHS encourages all attendees to personalize a fundraising page where friends and family pledge sponsorship dollars to help CAHS save the lives of homeless animals in Mid-Michigan. Registration is $25 (waived for children 12 and younger), and includes entry to the event, lunch, and access to the post-walk Yappy Hour. There are incentive prizes available based on the fundraising dollars. Animal lovers and local businesses unable to attend may also raise funds for the animals or make a general donation.

The Capital Area Humane Society has called on the community to reach their goal of $85,000 at this event.  Fundraising efforts will help provide food, shelter, and care for up to 290 animals every single day! 100% of all funds raised at this event go directly to support the more than 10,000 animals CAHS cares for annually.
