Congratulations to the 2009 Healthy & Fit Lifestyle Challenge Contestants

Healthy & Fit Magazine is proud to announce it’s 2009 Healthy & Fit Lifestyle Challenge contestants. Over the course of six months starting in January three hand picked contestants will be placed under the care of a local dietitian and personal trainer who will aid them in reaching their fitness goals. Meanwhile they will have the support of the community through Healthy & Fit Magazine’s readers who will get an update on how each contestant is doing in the magazine and on the magazine’s website. Congratulations to the three contestants and good luck on your journey to becoming healthy and fit.

Christine Doolittle, 52, of Mason MI

“The prospect of working with someone one-on-one to learn how to achieve my goals is exciting,” she said. “I know the motivation has to come from within me, but the benefit of having professionals guide and encourage me would be a valuable took and such a gift.”

Kenny Bey, 36, Lansing MI

“I am a husband, father of two boys and employee of the Lansing School District,” he said. “I work as an assistant principal at Pattengill Middle School. It is necessary for me to acquire and maintain a healthy lifestyle to meet the daily challenges of my profession. With pressing deadlines and long office hours, I find it challenging to fit in quality time, exercise, and even sleep. As a result, my body has suffered drastically. I gained over 40 pounds and have less energy to finish the day.”

Amy Proctor, 38, of Grand Ledge MI

“I sincerely believe that with better planning on my part and the guidance of a nutritionist during a program like this, I would be more apt to make better choices,” she said. “Plus I would have someone other than myself to which I would be accountable. I truly believe that participating in a program/contest like this would provide me with not only motivation, but direction and accountability, as well.”
