Mountain Biking

This weekend I'm trying my hand at racing mountain bikes. For me it's a big deal because I'm coming off a knee surgery a few months ago and am finally able to get into the swing of things. It's also fun to do, and a great workout.

Case in point today. I took some time to travel to Battle Creek, where the race will be held, with my good friend Cam. We made it through two loops of the red course at Ft. Custer, where the race will be held, and did it in good fashion (for me that means not falling, walking a lot or resting). So I feel good about the race.

It helps to have lost some weight and be in generally better health (minus the knee) so I'm looking forward to racing. For someone who is 6'6" tall, it should be interesting to see how well I do against smaller, and quicker, riders.
