Komen Race for the Cure

Wow! What a day today. Healthy and Fit Magazine went to the race for the cure today and witnessed more than 4,000 people take to the streets for a very worthy cause. It's far more people than what was out participating last year during a nasty April snowstorm.

As far as the race goes, JD Pepper won his first race of the season in a very fast time (check out the times at Playmakers.com. He had finished second in two other area races this year, the Orthopaedic Rehab 8K in Jackson, and the MSU Race for the Place last weekend. Good job JD!

There's a lot more pictures of the race at Dan Carey's Website. Check it out here!

It was also a great time to meet several area people who are definitely into staying in shape, or trying to. Shannon Westgate, of Holt, was there. Shannon is featured in this month's Healthy and Fit as a success story. She said she was planning on walking the entire 5K with a goal of running it next year.

Jason Vandersteldt was also in the race. Jason is one of our Team Healthy and Fit members. He said he had a good race even though he expected to run a bit faster.

That's it for now. In future posts you'll hear from more athletes, doctors, trainers and people who like to stay Healthy and Fit. And as always, be sure to pick up your copy of Healthy and Fit today!
